completely different

Jory,
Beginning with the name, slapt-get is completely different from swaret.
It is 9000 lines of code smaller. It is written in C. It is orders of magnitude faster. Bugfixes are released in a matter of hours not weeks.
It has a cogent path for growth with dependency checking. It will soon have the capability to choose and use multiple sources for packages including unofficial package sites such as linuxpackages.net.
The way slapt-get is being engineered will maximize its supportability by the community.
And it is scriptable to your needs.
In closing, I will say that, while we will not go out and spread misinformation about swaret (the truth speaks for itself), we will vigorously defend slapt-get from your vile mis-truths.
regards,
Dan |
